About Safa Shahouri Masjid, Ponda

A small mosque built in 1560 by Ibrahim Adil Shah of Bijapur, one of the few Adil Shahi buildings that survived in Goa. It stands beside a large water tank, in a quiet garden. Its plain stone arches and brick shape show the Deccan style that the Portuguese did not replace. It is a short stop on the Ponda route and rarely crowded. Respect the quiet and dress modestly.
