About Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church, Panaji
The white baroque church that overlooks the main square of Panaji, reached by a zigzag staircase. The first chapel stood here in the 1540s for sailors arriving by sea, and the present building dates to the early 1600s. The big bell was brought from the old capital. Visit in the evening when the facade is lit, and during the feast in early December when the square fills with stalls.
