About Ponging river beach
A sand and pebble beach on the Siang a few kilometres upstream of Pasighat, below the Adi village of Ponging. It is where the town camps out in winter, with bonfires and tents on the sand and the river running fast and cold beside you. Local operators set up camps here from November to March. Do not swim; the current is stronger than it looks.
