About Parshuram Mahadev Cave

A natural cave shrine to Shiva high in the Aravallis on the Pali and Rajsamand border, reached by about 500 steps cut down the hillside from the road. Tradition has Parshuram carving the cave with his axe, and the natural formations inside are read as Ganesh and a cow. The Shravan fair in July and August fills the steps with pilgrims; otherwise it is a quiet walk with Kumbhalgarh forest all around.
