About Luangmual Handicrafts Centre

A government craft centre 7 km west of the centre where the khumbeu, the Mizo ceremonial bamboo hat, is still made. The hat is woven from bamboo with a layer of hnahthial leaf inside that keeps rain out, and watching one made explains why it costs what it does. Bamboo and cane furniture, baskets and puan are sold too. Closed Sunday like everything else.
