About Bara Bazar
The main market of Aizawl, running downhill in steps through Dawrpui, and the place to understand how the city eats and dresses. Saturday is the big day, when villagers come in with vegetables, bamboo shoot, smoked meat and river fish, and everything shuts on Sunday. In Christmas week the streets from here up through Zarkawt and Chanmari are strung with lights and the whole city is out.
