About Hmuifang

A 1619 metre ridge 50 km south of Aizawl on the old Lunglei road, about two hours of driving. The forest on top was protected by the chiefs long before the state took over, so the oaks and rhododendrons are old and the walks under them are cool even in October. Mizoram Tourism runs the resort cottages and holds Thalfavang Kut, the post-harvest festival, here in November.
