About Lal Darwaza Masjid
The smallest of the three great Sharqi mosques, built around 1447 by Bibi Raji, queen of Mahmud Shah, as the mosque of her palace, which had a red-painted gate that gave the name. It is a compact version of Atala with a shorter pylon and a madrasa attached that is still teaching. Fifteen minutes from the other two, and the quietest.
What to see and do
- The pylon, a smaller echo of Atala
- The attached madrasa
- Built by a Sharqi queen
- Quiet courtyard
