About Guru Shikhar

The highest point in Rajasthan at 1,722 metres, 15 km from Mount Abu town along a ridge road, with a Dattatreya temple on the summit and a brass bell that everyone rings. It is a short flight of steps from the car park rather than a climb. On a clear winter morning the Aravalli ridges roll south into Gujarat and the plains lie 1,400 metres below. The infrared observatory dome sits on the next knoll.
