About Dilwara Jain Temples

Five marble Jain temples, plain on the outside, with interiors carved so finely that the marble looks like lace. Vimal Vasahi of 1031 and Luna Vasahi of 1230, built by the ministers Vastupala and Tejpal, are the two that matter, with ceilings of concentric lotus pendants that took generations of carvers. Non-Jain visitors are admitted only from noon and cameras are not allowed. Still the finest Jain carving in India.
