About Double Decker Living Root Bridge, Nongriat

A bridge of two levels grown from the roots of a rubber fig tree over a hill stream, in the village of Nongriat. The trek starts at Tyrna, with around 3,000 steps down to the valley, a hanging bridge and a stream crossing on the way. It takes a good part of a day, and the climb back is steep. Go in the dry months, when the steps are not slippery, and bring water, cash, and a headlamp if you stay late.
