About Dhankar Monastery and Lake
A 1,000 year old monastery perched on a cliff above the meeting of the Spiti and Pin rivers, once the capital of the Spiti kings. A one hour walk leads from the monastery to Dhankar Lake. The building is fragile and listed among the most endangered heritage sites in the world.
