About Key Monastery
The largest monastery of Spiti, on a conical hill above the Spiti river, an elegant complex of whitewashed buildings that looks like a fort. It was founded in the 11th century and has been rebuilt several times. It has beautiful murals and thangkas and a library, and is home to about 250 monks.
