About Cotigao Wildlife Sanctuary

A forest sanctuary in Canacona, a short drive inland from Palolem, with tall evergreen trees and high watch towers over waterholes. It is a good place for birds and the giant Malabar squirrel, and with luck gaur and sloth bear. Early morning is best, and the quiet forest has good tree-top viewpoints. Take a guide at the gate and avoid the heat of midday.
