About Cabo de Rama Fort

A ruined fort on a cliff in Canacona, named after Rama, who is said to have stayed here with Sita during exile. Hindu rulers held it, then others, and the Portuguese took over in the 1700s and kept a small garrison. Walls, a gateway, cannons and a small church survive, and a long wall runs along the cliff above the sea. The view and the quiet at sunset are the point. Take water in summer.
