About Augharnath Temple
The Shiva temple in Meerut Cantonment that the sepoys of the Bengal Native Infantry used, and where the plans for 10 May 1857 were talked over; hence the name Kali Paltan Mandir. The present building is a modern rebuild with a memorial to the 1857 soldiers in the compound. It remains the busiest temple in Meerut.
