About Uchaitha Bhagwati
A Durga temple on the Thumhani river near Benipatti, and by local legend the place where a dull young Kalidas was blessed with learning by the goddess overnight. The image is headless, worshipped as Chhinnamastika. Navratri is the big time, and there is a Sanskrit school beside the temple that keeps the Kalidas story alive.
