About Siddaganga Matha
A Lingayat monastery at Kyathsandra on the edge of Tumakuru, famous for feeding, housing and schooling thousands of children of all castes at no cost. Its head Shivakumara Swami, who died in 2019 at 111, is buried here and his memorial draws a constant stream of visitors. The original Siddalingeshwara shrine is in a cave on the hill above the campus. A large fair is held every year around Maha Shivaratri.
