About Goravanahalli Mahalakshmi Temple
A temple to Mahalakshmi in a small village 30 km from Tumakuru, near Koratagere, that has grown into one of the busiest shrines in the district. Devotees come mainly on Fridays and during Navaratri to pray for prosperity, and the temple runs free meals through the day. The idol is said to have been found in a lake nearby. Buses run from Tumakuru and Madhugiri.
