About Serkawn Mission Ridge
The Baptist missionaries J. H. Lorrain and F. W. Savidge settled on this ridge south of Lunglei in 1903, and the south of Mizoram has been Baptist ever since, as the north is Presbyterian. The Baptist Church of Mizoram still runs from here, with the old church, the hospital and the schools along one quiet road. Saikuti Hall in the town, named for the Mizo poetess Saikuti, is where concerts and church events happen.
