About Rani Sati Temple
A vast marble complex built by Marwari merchant families around the memory of Narayani Devi, a 13th-century woman who is worshipped as Rani Sati Dadi. There is no image, only a trident; the walls carry her story in painted panels. It is one of the richest temples in Rajasthan and the Bhadrapad Amavasya fair in August or September draws Marwari families from across India. The subject is contested; the temple presents her as a goddess of strength.
What to see and do
- The trident in place of an image
- Painted story panels around the courtyard
- Bhadrapad Amavasya fair
- Marwari family pilgrimage from Kolkata and Mumbai
