About Phawngpui (Blue Mountain)

The highest point in Mizoram at 2157 metres and the one real trek in the state. You drive to Sangau, two days out of Aizawl, then walk up through oak and rhododendron to Far Pak, a flat grassland on top wide enough to camp on. The Thlazuang Kham cliff drops off one side and is held to be the home of spirits. Rhododendrons flower in March and April.
