About Nevasa, where the Dnyaneshwari was written
Dnyaneshwar dictated the Dnyaneshwari here around 1290, leaning against a pillar in the Mohiniraj temple while Sacchidanand Baba wrote it down. That pillar, the paisa khamb, is still shown. For anyone who cares about Marathi as a written language this is close to a founding site, and yet it sees a fraction of Alandi’s crowds.
What to see and do
- The paisa khamb, the pillar he leaned against
- Mohiniraj temple, unusual for its Mohini form of Vishnu
- Pravara river ghats
- Far quieter than Alandi or Dehu
