About Lohagarh Fort
Suraj Mal built the Iron Fort in the 1730s with thick mud ramparts on stone footings and a wide moat, and it earned its name in 1805 when Lord Lake besieged it four times and gave up. The mud absorbed the cannon balls where cut stone would have shattered. The Jawahar Burj and Fateh Burj commemorate Jat victories over Delhi and the British.
