About Bayana Fort and Usha Mandir

A long ridge fort above the old town of Bayana, once called Vijaygarh, with walls and gateways from the Rajput, Sultanate and Mughal periods. The Bhim Lat is a sandstone pillar carved with a Gupta-era inscription of 371 CE, and the Usha Mandir is a 9th or 10th century temple later converted into a mosque and then back. The climb is rough, the ruins are extensive and there are no facilities.
