About Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary
A 204 sq km sanctuary south of Dudhwa along the Sharda river, protected since 1972 and part of the tiger reserve since 1987. Jhadi Tal, a big shallow lake in the middle, holds one of the largest swamp deer gatherings in the terai, and tigers are seen around it more often than anywhere in Dudhwa itself. Smaller and quieter than the main park.
