About Karkat Waterfall

The Karmanasa river drops over a wide sandstone ledge at Karkatgarh, on the Bihar-Uttar Pradesh border, into a gorge holding one of the largest mugger crocodile populations in the state. Bihar declared it a crocodile conservation reserve in 2020 and built a viewing deck and cottages. The fall is full from July into October and the rock is slick then; do not go into the water, for the current and for the crocodiles.
