About Chainpur
A small town 11 km from Bhabua with three things in it. The tomb of Bakhtiyar Khan, a 16th-century Afghan noble, is a domed sandstone building with fine screens, ASI protected and rarely visited. Harsu Brahm is the shrine of a Brahmin who, the story goes, died cursing the local raja and became a Brahm, a powerful spirit; people come from across north India for exorcism. The ruined fort of the Chainpur rajas sits beside it.
