About Ibrahim Rauza

Ibrahim Rauza is the tomb and mosque of Ibrahim Adil Shah II and his queen Taj Sultana, finished around 1626 and designed by the architect Malik Sandal. The two buildings face each other across a raised platform in a walled garden, and the tomb walls are cut with Persian calligraphy so fine it looks like lace. It is on the western edge of the old city, about 3 km from Gol Gumbaz, and is far less crowded. Sunset light on the sandstone is the best time to visit.
