About Hindumalkot Border
The railway from Bathinda used to run on through Hindumalkot to Bahawalnagar, and 1947 cut it here; the station is now the last on the line, 25 km north-west of Sri Ganganagar, and the border fence is a short drive beyond. There is no ceremony like Wagah. The BSF post lets visitors up to a viewing point on some days and turns them away on others, so ask in town and carry ID. The draw is standing at the edge of the country.
What to see and do
- The border fence and the BSF viewpoint
