About Anupgarh Fort
Anup Singh of Bikaner raised this fort in 1689 to hold the Bhatti frontier, and the town grew round it and took his name. What survives is a ring of thick brick and mud walls and bastions, partly fallen, in the middle of a canal-fed farming town near the border. There is no ticket office; it is an hour, with Laila Majnu ki Mazar beyond. Anupgarh was briefly a district of its own, and has been back in Sri Ganganagar since December 2024.
