About Dharmasthala

Dharmasthala is a temple town on the Netravati river where a Shiva shrine to Manjunatha is run by a Jain family, the Heggades, with Vaishnava priests performing the worship. Free meals are served to everyone who visits, often tens of thousands a day. The 39 ft Bahubali statue on a hill, the Manjusha museum and a vintage car museum are all within walking distance of the temple. Buses run from Mangaluru, about 75 km away, all day.
