About Chauth Mata temple
A goddess temple on a hilltop at Chauth ka Barwara, about 35 kilometres from Sawai Madhopur, built in 1451 by the Chauhan ruler Bhim Singh. Some 700 steps lead up. Women fasting on Karva Chauth and Sakat Chauth come here in numbers, and the Magh fair in January brings a crowd from across eastern Rajasthan.
