About Agori Fort
A hill fort of the Kharwars and later the Chandels on a rock where the Renu meets the Son, across the river from Chopan. Its story is tangled with the novel Chandrakanta and its neighbour Vijaygarh. The walls are ruined, the temple inside is live, and the setting at the confluence is the reason to go. Reached by boat across the Son or by the road bridge from Chopan.
What to see and do
- The Son and Renu confluence below the walls
- Ruined ramparts and a live temple
- Boat crossing from Chopan
- The Chandrakanta connection
Part of Vindhya and Kaimur.
