About Trikuteshwara Temple, Gadag

Trikuteshwara is a Kalyani Chalukya temple in Gadag town where three Shiva lingas stand on a single pedestal, which gives the temple its name. The Saraswati shrine in the same compound is known for its polished, lathe-turned black stone pillars that are among the finest in the style, though the Saraswati image itself is damaged. The temple is about 2 km from Gadag railway station and busy at Mahashivaratri. The Veeranarayana temple, where the poet Kumara Vyasa wrote his Mahabharata, is nearby in town.
