About Talakaveri
Talakaveri on the Brahmagiri hills is the traditional source of the river Kaveri, marked by a small spring tank and shrines to Kaveriamma, Agastheeswara and Ganapati. Every year on Tula Sankramana in mid October pilgrims gather to see the spring rise, which is the busiest day of the year here. A flight of about 400 steps behind the temple climbs to the Brahmagiri peak, with a wide view over the ghats into Kerala on a clear day. The site is 8 km uphill from Bhagamandala, where the Triveni Sangama and Bhagandeshwara temple are usually visited on the same trip.
