About Nagarhole Tiger Reserve
Nagarhole, also called Rajiv Gandhi National Park, is one of the best tiger and elephant forests in south India and part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve with Bandipur across the Kabini. The park straddles Kodagu and Mysuru districts; the Kodagu side is entered from the Nanachi gate near Kutta, while the Hunsur side uses the Veeranahosahalli gate. Forest department safari buses and jeeps run morning and late afternoon, with the dry months from March to May giving the best sightings at the Kabini backwater. Stay options range from forest rest houses to lodges at Kabini and homestays around Kutta.
