About Siddharoodha Matha
The matha of Siddharoodha Swami, an Advaita saint who lived in Hubballi until 1929, is the busiest pilgrim spot in the twin cities and draws devotees of all communities. His samadhi shrine is at the centre of a large complex with halls for bhajans and a free kitchen that feeds visitors every day. The annual chariot festival around Mahashivaratri in February or March brings crowds from across north Karnataka. The matha is in the old town, about 3 km from Hubballi railway station, and is open from early morning.
