About Shyama Mai Temple
A Kali temple built in 1933 by Maharaja Kameshwar Singh over the spot where his father, Maharaja Rameshwar Singh, was cremated, inside what is now the university campus. It stands on the royal cremation ground, which is unusual for a temple that hosts weddings and mundan ceremonies all year, but that is how Darbhanga uses it. Busy on Tuesdays, Saturdays and through Navratri.
What to see and do
- Kali shrine on the royal cremation ground
- Built 1933 by the Darbhanga Raj
