About Ahilya Asthan

The village of Ahiari, near Kamtaul, is where Mithila tradition places the release of Ahalya from her curse by the touch of Ram on his way to Janakpur. The temple is modest and the village is the point; Ram Navami brings a fair. Nothing here is ancient in stone, but it is one of the fixed stops on the Mithila Ramayana circuit.
