About Nargauna Palace
Built by Maharaja Kameshwar Singh in 1934, the year the great earthquake wrecked the older palaces, so it was designed to survive the next one and was among the first fully air-conditioned buildings in India. It now belongs to Lalit Narayan Mithila University, as does the neighbouring Anand Bagh Palace, the university headquarters. You can walk the campus freely; the rooms are offices and departments.
