About Savandurga

One of the largest single rock hills in Asia, rising 1226 m about 50 km west of Bengaluru. The climb is on bare granite slopes with white painted markers, past the walls of a ruined Kempegowda fort, to a Nandi at the summit. The Savandi Veerabhadra and Narasimha temples stand at the base. The rock is dangerously slippery in rain and the summit has no shade, so go early on a dry day.
