About Ramadevara Betta

The rocky hill above Ramanagara town where the film Sholay was shot, now protected as the only vulture sanctuary in Karnataka for its long billed and Egyptian vultures. A flight of about 400 steps leads through a forest gate to a Rama temple and a pond cut into the rock near the top. The boulders around the hill are popular with rock climbers. It is 50 km from Bengaluru on the Mysuru highway.
