About Rampuria Havelis
The Rampuria merchants built a row of havelis in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century in Dulmera red sandstone, and their carved jharokhas, mixing Rajput, Mughal and Victorian motifs, are the reason to walk the old city. Bikaner has something like four hundred havelis in these lanes; the Kothari, Daga and Mohta houses are nearby. The bhujia, rasgulla and kachori shops around Kote Gate are as much the point.
