About Lalgarh Palace
Maharaja Ganga Singh had it built from 1902 in red Dulmera sandstone to a design by Samuel Swinton Jacob, and it is Indo-Saracenic through and through, with lattice screens and peacocks on the lawns. Part of it is a heritage hotel; the Shri Sadul Museum in another wing keeps the royal photographs, hunting trophies, a saloon railway carriage and Ganga Singh's Round Table Conference memorabilia.
