About Godavari Arch Bridge
Three bridges cross the Godavari at Rajamahendravaram where the river is nearly 3 km wide. The Godavari Arch Bridge, opened in 1997, carries the railway on a line of concrete bowstring arches and is one of the longest of its type in Asia. Beside it are the 1974 road cum rail bridge and the stone piers of the 1900 Havelock bridge, now used for a walkway. Sunset seen from the river bank ghats or from a boat is the best time.
What to see and do
- Arch bridge from the river bank
- Old Havelock bridge walkway
- Boat ride on the Godavari
- Sunset from Pushkar ghat side
