About Paithan, Eknath Samadhi & Jayakwadi
Paithan was Pratishthana, capital of the Satavahanas, which makes it one of the oldest continuously inhabited towns in the Deccan. It is the home of Eknath Maharaj, whose samadhi is here, and of the Paithani saree, still woven on handlooms in the town. Jayakwadi dam and the Dnyaneshwar Udyan gardens sit alongside.
