About Nageshwarnath Temple

The Shiva temple of Ayodhya, traditionally founded by Kush, son of Ram, and by the local account the one shrine that kept the town alive when everything else was forgotten. The present building is from about 1750, put up by Naval Rai, minister to Safdar Jang. It stands right beside Ram ki Paidi and is at its fullest on Shivratri.
