About Mukundara Hills Tiger Reserve

The forested Mukundara range south of Kota, made a tiger reserve in 2013 and stocked with tigers from Ranthambore from 2018, with mixed results: some died, some bred, and the population is small and not a sure thing to see. The forest itself, the Darrah gorge and the Chambal backwaters are good, with leopard, sloth bear, chinkara and gharial in the river. Safaris go from the Darrah gate.
