About Kaithoon, Kota Doria weaving

The village 15 kilometres from Kota where Kota Doria, the light cotton-and-silk checked weave with a GI tag, is made on pit looms in the weavers houses, mostly by Ansari Muslim families. You can watch the looms working through open doors and buy sarees at half the showroom price. Ask for hand-woven, because power-loom copies are common.
